Together with Heritage Equity Group owners Max Dull, Patrick Greene, and Richard Crawford, the newly formed Executive Council will seek out complementary acquisition opportunities.

 



Joe Bagwell

Bagwell began his career as an Accountant for Gabriel Shocks (Maremount) in 1970, later being named Accounts Receivable Manager for the Gabriel and Worldparts Divisions of Maremont Corporation.

Bagwell was named Manager of Financial Services in 1979, before being named Controller for Worldparts in 1980. He was promoted to Vice President Controller for Worldparts in 1983.

In 1987, Bagwell became Vice President – Sales Administration for Worldparts and continues in that role for Beck/Arnley, as well as serving on the HEG Executive Council.

Bagwell received his degree from the University of Alabama in 1965, and is a member of AWDA, and AAIA.

In 2004, he received the prestigious AIA Life Time Achievement Award.

 



Leon Viars

Viars remarkable automotive career began with Arvin (Maremont), as Accounting Manager, Exhaust Systems Products Division in 1969. He was named Vice President and Controller in 1975. In 1978, he was named Vice President, Finance and Operations, for the division, and was elected Corporate Vice President.

In 1981, Viars was promoted to Vice President Operations – Domestic Automotive Group. In 1991, he became President of Gabriel Ride Control Products, and Arvin Vice President. In 1995, he became President of Arvin Replacement Products Division and Arvin Executive Vice President, and a member of the Office of the Chief Executive, retiring from that position in 1999.

Viars graduated from Tennessee Wesleyan College in Athens, Tennessee, with a B.S. in Accounting, with a minor in Economics.

 

 



Art Lottes

An icon in the automotive aftermarket industry, until January 2006, Lottes was President of CARQUEST Corporation, responsible for the supply chain, product management, and pricing strategy.

Lottes counts 1992 Automotive Aftermarket Leader of the Year, Chairman of Automotive Warehouse Distributors Association (AWDA), and Past Chairman of Automotive Aftermarket Lobbying Coalition (CARE) as some of the many honors bestowed upon him.

Prior to that, Lottes was President and owner of A.E. Lottes Company, of St. Louis, Missouri.

Lottes received his B.S. in Finance from the University of Missouri-Columbia, and attended the Harvard University Executive Education Program.
